Miley Cyrus Caught On Tape Smoking Through A Bong

Anthony Jones – Celebrity News Service Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Miley Cyrus says she can’t be tamed, and with the release of a new video showing her smoking out of a bong and having what she describes as a “bad trip,” that’s more clear than ever.

In a video posted by TMZ, Cyrus is seen at a party at her L.A. home just five days after her 18th birthday. She can be seen smoking the herb salvia through a bong. Salvia, which has psychedelic qualities, is legal in California.

“I’m having a little bit of a bad trip,” Cyrus says before lying down and then questions a male at the party if he’s her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, whom she co-starred with in “The Last Song.”

“Oh my God, he looks like so much like Liam,” she says, before breaking into a laughing fit. “Is that me tripping? He doesn’t look like Liam at all?”

Miley then breaks into an impromptu rap, imitating Nicki Minaj’s verses in the Trey Songz collaboration, “Bottoms Up.”

The video was shot by one of Miley’s friends. Someone reportedly stole the video off Miley’s friend’s camera and sent it into TMZ.

To add to the recent Miley scandals, some alleged nude pics of her were just leaked online. Also, while celebrating her 18th birthday last month, pictures of Cyrus leaked where an unknown male was seen kissing on her neck.

Time Warner Cable Increases Profits, Loses Subscribers

Anne Lu – AHN Entertainment Contributor

New York, NY, United States (AHN) – Time Warner Cable has released its third quarter earnings, showing that while its profits have increased, they have lost 155 video subscribers. According to their data, the profits took a hike after the company increased its price, though it has blamed the bad economy for losing subscribers.

Revenues increased 5.2% from the third quarter of 2009 to $4.7 billion. And although high-speed data subscribers grew by 104,000 and their digital phone subscribers increased by 34,000, they lost 155,000 of their video subscribers.

The company said that the primary reason for the loss was the economy and the competition from new video offerings from Verizon and AT&T, but it was not due to cord-cutters, or those people who ditch cable TV for Web video.

Time Warner Cable is not the only one who lost subscribers. Comcast also reported 275,000 customers who discontinued the video service.

President Barack Obama Says “It Gets Better” In New Anti-Bullying Video

Anthony Jones – AHN Entertainment Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – President Barack Obama submitted a video for the “It Gets Better” project, which has featured gay and gay-friendly celebrities speaking out to youths about the current bullying and gay suicide epidemic. President Obama wants to fight against discrimination, against LGBT Americans or anyone.

“Like all of you, I was shocked and saddened by the deaths of several young people who were bullied and taunted for being gay, and who ultimately took their own lives,” President Barack Obama said in the video. “As a parent of two daughters, it breaks my heart. It’s something that just shouldn’t happen in this country.”

“We’ve got to dispel the myth that bullying is just a normal rite of passage—that it’s some inevitable part of growing up. It’s not,” President Obama continued. “We have an obligation to ensure that our schools are safe for all of our kids.”

Since the “It Gets Better” project launched, from “Savage Love” columnist Dan Savage, the award-winning project has received videos from celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Tim Gunn, and Kathy Griffin. In their videos, they all encouraged young LGBT adults and anyone currently affected by bulling to stay strong.

President Obama’s video was posted both by Savage on his blog as well as on the White House website.

“I don’t know what it’s like to be picked on for being gay,” President Obama said.” But I do know what it’s like to grow up feeling that sometimes you don’t belong. It’s tough.”

“But what I want to say is this. You are not alone,” he continued.” You didn’t do anything wrong. You didn’t do anything to deserve being bullied. And there is a whole world waiting for you, filled with possibilities. There are people out there who love you and care about you just the way you are.”

But Savage also challenges President Obama to not just say it gets better, but to make things better. The video comes amidst the administration’s appealing of recent “don’t ask, don’t tell” efforts and the Defense of Marriage Act.

“The president of the United States has the power to do more than assure LGBT kids that it will get better,” Savage said on CNN Friday. “The president of the United States and his administration have the power to make it better.”

Kathy Griffin Blames “Anti-Gay Public Figures” For Recent String Of Gay Suicides

Anthony Jones – AHN Entertainment Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Kathy Griffin, comedian and gay icon, is the latest celebrity to address the recent string of gay suicides in a video posted to YouTube. In the video, she speaks out to everyone, not only gay youth, about seeking help, but also puts blame on politicians and pundits for making gays feel inferior.

“LGBT folks, I’ve met you, I’ve seen you at my shows. I know you’re there,” Griffin says in the video. “Even in the Bible belt where you think you’re alone, you’re not alone. I see you and there’s help.”

Griffin shares the information for the Trevor Project organization, which has a website and not only a hotline, but what she calls a “lifeline.” Griffin then goes on to describe the homophobia in the country as “trickle-down homophobia,” and blames the politicians and pundits who make a living off telling people that being gay is wrong.

“All you anti-gay public figures, and you know who you are, you have the blood of these dead teens in your hands,” she says.

“Even if you’re in a very Republican area or a conservative town, you’re not alone,” Griffin tells the camera. “Newsflash: if 10 to 12% of the entire country is gay, so are the people in your neighborhood. And there’s nothing wrong with them, and there’s nothing wrong with you.”

Griffin admits, while not a lesbian (although she has played one on TV), she does say with confidence that “it does get better.”

“You know why? Two words: Suze Orman,” she says, name-checking her famous, and openly gay, friend. “There you go. About 300 million reasons why there’s nothing wrong with being gay.”

Having played the guitar for over 20 years, the one question I most often get asked is what is the best place to get online guitar lessons for beginners?

When I first started out playing the guitar I taught myself but soon moved on to guitar lessons.

I was fortunate to have a friend’s father down the street that showed me several chords and some basic technique.

I listened to CDs, to find out what my favourite bands were doing and had some success with this but it was very limited.

Of course there are much easier ways to learn the guitar today, when I started, by using books and fumbling around and learning what I could as fast as I could.

But now when I’m asked what is the easiest way to learn guitar, particularly for online guitar lessons for beginners. there are more options today. You have the traditional method of getting books from a music store or taking lessons from a private teacher. But there is another way, and I believe it is the most effective way to learn the guitar and the best method to provide online guitar lessons for beginners.

One of the great advantages with video guitar lessons is being able to see and easily replicate what you’re being taught on the computer screen or television. This provides a much better understanding of what you are doing on the guitar and makes for a much faster learning experience.

Exploding Children in Climate Change Video Sparks Outrage

Lawrence Mijares – AHN News Contributor

London, United Kingdom (AHN) – The video-sharing site, “You Tube”, withdrew a four-minute video campaigning for climate change after several viewers and climate change skeptics were outraged by its graphic depiction of exploding children who refused to listen to a carbon cutting emission project.

Ironically, the video was made by Richard Curtis, film writer and director of such romantic comedy and feel-good films such as “Love Actually”, “Blackadder”, “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “Notting Hill.”

The video entitled: “No Pressure” is part of the “10:10″ climate change campaign and had an intentional comical tone where it had other “disinterested” guest cameos exploding. For example former footballer, David Ginola and former X-Files star, Gillian Anderson exploded.

In explaining that the detonation of the children was for maximum impact in driving home the campaign’s point, 10:10 in a public statement said, “With climate change becoming increasingly threatening, and decreasingly talked about in the media, we wanted to find a way to bring this critical issues back into the headlines whilst makgin people laugh.”

The statement continued to say, “Many people found the resulting film extremely funny, but unfortunately some didn’t and we sincerely apology to anybody we have offended. As a result of these concerns we’ve taken it off our website. We won’t be making any attempt to censor or remove other versions currently in

circulation on the internet.”

Franny Armstrong, 10:10 founder, was more direct and unapologetic in justifying the video’s graphic explosion scene: “We ‘killed’ five people to make No Pressure – a mere blip compared to the 300,000 real people who now die each year from climate change.”

Australian “Smokes” Koran, Bible

AHN News Staff

Sydney, Australia (AHN) – Just days after Florida-based pastor Terry Jones threatened to burn Islam’s holy book to mark the 9/11 attacks, an Australian lawyer posted a 12-minute clip on a video-sharing site showing himself tearing pages out of Christian and Muslim holy books and smoking them.

The video was reportedly posted on the weekend while the U.S. was observing the ninth anniversary of the attacks.

The video on YouTube entitled “Bible or Koran – which burns best?” shows Alex Stewart, an atheist, tearing and lighting up the rolled up pages of the Bible and the Koran. YouTube has since deleted the video.

The incident sparked international outrage, forcing Queensland University of Technology to consider sacking Stewart, who is the university’s commercial contract lawyer. “The Queensland University is obviously extremely, extremely unhappy and disappointed that this sort of incident should occur,” Vice Chancellor Peter Coaldrake told reporters.

Islamic Association of Australia’s President Sheik Muhammad Wahid said that Stewart’s comments had deeply hurt Muslim sentiments as he described the two holy books as being similar to secular books. Wahid added that there was no need to do such an act because it only created disunity and disharmony among people living in Australia.

Referring to Jones’ plan to cancel the burning of Korans, Stewart, in his video, said, “With respect to books like the Bible and the Koran, whatever, just get over it.”

Despite Jones’ cancellation, two people died in protests in Afghanistan.

Defending his right to freedom of speech, Stewart told Brisbane’s Courier Mail that the video was only a joke, adding that he was only smoking grass clippings. “People do this stuff all the time and if people get really upset about this then they’re taking it far too seriously,” he added.

In a related development in India, hundreds of furious Muslims, chanting pro-Islamic and anti-U.S. slogans, torched a missionary school in Kashmir region Monday.

There were no reports of injuries in the incident since the Tyndale Biscoe School was already closed due to unrest in the Kashmir Valley.

The protests started after Iran-based Press TV broadcast a clip showing a small group of Christian protesters tearing Koran pages outside the White House on Saturday.

The Kashmiri protestors defied curfew and held nightlong demonstrations and road blockages in Budgam and Baramulla.

Leading Shiite cleric Aga Syed Hassan from Budgam denounced the tearing of the Korans and demanded punishment for the perpetrators. He vowed to continue protests.
