With the download era we live in today; why are CD’s still so costly? At 99 cents a song as the about average cost for most downloading sites; it’s a mystery as to how and why CD companies still maintain high rates?
If I were to purchase a CD; which now days is very rare; I have to go through the trouble of getting dressed; fighting with traffic; search endlessly amongst the wrongly alphabetized CD section; stand in line; and purchase an entire CD for maybe just a few songs that I find decent.
The beauty of downloading music is I can skip all the hassle and simply search and purchase. Transaction complete; and much cheaper than if I were to waste gas, time, and money all for one song.
With downloads more popular than ever; I still can’t fathom why CD’s aren’t sold at the low price of $5.00. I don’t think it’s logical to spend more than that. It’s simply too expensive and much too much of a hassle.
If you are stuck with purchasing a cd; easy solution…..used CD. Typically; you can find a CD listed on Amazon for somewhere near $1.00. Yes; you have to pay shipping so ultimately you come out at about $5.00 but still; that’s more reasonable than buying the same tracks new and getting ripped off.
If only CD companies thought a little bit more about the consumer and a little less about their profits. As cassette tape goes; CD’s will go as well. Save money on your music costs and consider going online to buy music. You won’t have the physical copy but you will save time and even money too!
