Rebecca Black to release official follow-up to ‘Friday’

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) – Rebecca Black is going indie. The 14-year-old overnight star is set to self-release the follow-up to her now ubiquitous first single and music video “Friday.”

The track is titled “My Moment.” It was written by Brandon “Blue” Hamilton, who co-produced the Justin Bieber track “Born to Be Somebody,” and Quinton Tolbert, with Charlton Pettus, who worked on tracks for Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan.

“My Moment” is set to hit Black’s YouTube channel and official website on July 18th at 8:00pm. The track will hit iTunes the next day.

A music video will accompany the track, which is said to feature Black receiving awards at her junior high and hitting red carpet premieres. “It’s a fairytale story, but it happened in real life,” a statement reads.

Black is foregoing the route of a signing with a label and will release an upcoming five-track EP herself. It’s set to hit digital outlets in August.

Meanwhile, Black has continued to capitalize on her “Friday” fame. She’s now starring in another “Friday”-themed video, Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).”

After years of teaching and giving saxophone workshops, I asked myself; “How can I reach more students, give some instruction, without having to be there?”. I decided that I needed to write out what I taught in workshops and sell the information in the form of ebooks and CD-ROMs.

I decided that I was going to make CD-ROM products. I created audio and PDFs files and created a web browser interface to access them. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be worth doing, meaning, if I was going to make money with it. So, I did it like this: I thought of a couple of topics, about 5, created names for the CD-ROM products and placed ads with PayPal buttons on my website as though the items already existed for sale. I sent out an email to my email list, included links in my email signature and created a 5-day mini-course as a teaser.

These I used as a gauge to check interest in the possible products. When orders came in, I knew which products to create and I was able to do so quickly. Where no orders came in, I cancelled to product. Periodically, I create new product names on different instructional topics and test interest the same way.

Along with that, I periodically create special offers, packages in order to keep sales coming. I keep a database of all previous customers to make follow-up offers and constantly look to generate new customers.

Have I made money? Yes. A lot of money? A few hundred dollars. Not enough to get rich on, but if you think about it, you create your product once and sell it over and over again. The possibilities are literally endless.
