If you are just starting to play the guitar DO NOT BUY BOOKS! You can still learn to play guitar free without the need for guide books that will bore you to tears.

I started learning guitar with a 400 page book that covered everything, even the history of the guitar and blah blah blah, by the time I was done with that chapter I wanted to learn how to put my head through my guitar, forget about playing it!

I’m not saying you should not learn the history of the guitar, but wait at least until you learn something on the guitar first.

Now I’m actually pretty good on the guitar, I always wanted to give a little back to new guitarists that are as keen to learn as I was, so I came up with an idea.

What’s The Big Guitar Idea?

I come up with the idea to share out 5 steps that every guitarist will benifit from learning first of all, they are hands-on guitar lessons that actually allow you to pick up your guitar and finally get started.

Many new guitarists give up because they lack guidance, or the methods they are learning are just plan wrong and way too long! My 5-step method is short and to the point, but full of the greatest techniques you need to know right now.

The secret to becomming a great guitarist comes from the techniques you learn when you first start to play the guitar, if they are good techniques playing the guitar is a pure joy. But if you learn bad techniques then it can be uncomfortable, and take ages to unlearn those bad habits.

Why pay for lessons if you are not even sure the guitar is for you right? And this is another reason the 5-step guitar lessons are so good, they are designed to not only help you understand the guitar, but also to make it clear to you if you even want to carry on with it.

Learning A Good Guitar Lesson

If after you complete the lessons you are crying out for more like I was, then we will give you a leg-up to the next logical guitar learning step. If you hate the guitar after the lessons, then you have not wasted your money paying out for expensive guitar lessons.

Whatever you decide, give it all you got. Embrace the guitar and start to love to play it just as much as I do, and millions of others. See you around;)

OK, OK, find out what all the fuss is about and grab the 5 lessons! Still wanna learn to play guitar free?

It may seem to be a daunting task to trace back the history of rap music and history of bossa nova, though you can see one similarity—informal music associated with highly informal dance style. As far as origin of rap music is concerned most people agree that it is Afro-American and Latino Street culture of New York City. Not only this city but the surrounding areas as well that have influence of African people and their culture.

If we see it carefully, then we will definitely notice that rap music rhyming poetry combined with heavy drum beats and music usually sung at higher pitches. Most of the time rap music is associated with chorus sung by another performer in their original traditional pop, rhythm and blues. Though, rap music was primarily an American music style with African influence over music and lyrics, but recently it has been spread evenly to almost entire world.

There is hardly any country or nation, where rap music can not be seen in some form or other. Perhaps this is one of the most sought after music styles amongst the youngsters. However, when it comes to trace back the history then it is believed that hip hop and rap music started in the early 70s and during the late 70s and early 80s it gained much popularity not in America but throughout the world.

The history of rap music and hip hop music is full of controversies and bans, as the lyrics revolve around sex, drugs and crime; even the most famous pop stars and hip hop musicians and singers were found to be associated with several controversies in their life. For that reason, no matter how popular this music style was or still is, but it has always had a bad reputation in the eyes of mainstream society and its people around the world. Sometimes it gang culture is also criticized along withy it dirty lyrics. Unfortunately or coincidently one of the members of the Last Poet was sentenced to prison and he wasn’t able to perform for their second album later within a year.

Philadelphia is nothing short of an amazing city. History tells it all: Philadelphia is the home of the 2,055-pound Liberty Bell, the place of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the home of the sewing of the first American flag by Betsy Ross. But American history is not all that it’s known for. A hub of music, it was the origin of disco music and with so many music recordings and films released from this remarkable city, just learning here is quite an education in itself. It’s for this very reason that several of the Philadelphia music schools have a well-rounded program. Of course, there is training on your instrument as well as vocal and harmony classes, music theory and courses to teach you the history of music. Also, you will learn about recording music, microphones and the fundamentals of the engineering process. It is important that Philadelphia music schools train you in your discipline, but also offer students the ability to learn the technical areas of music too. One of the largest of the Philadelphia music schools is Temple University.

It’s where the Boyer College of Music and Dance is situated. Offering programs in keyboard, jazz, composition, music education, recording and audio aesthetics, it will provide the student with an ideally well rounded curriculum to understand music from all perspectives. And because the school is located a mere one mile from downtown Philadelphia, it is ideal for students not only to learn about music, but to experience the unique life that this great city has to offer. The Curtis Institute of Music has some of the most popular musicians and artists in the world. Admission is dependent on the “potential” of the student – may it be on a specialization of an instrument, vocalization or behind a computer. This is a school that promotes the best of the best. The Settlement School of Music, the largest community school in the country, is one of the most outstanding Philadelphia music schools. It boasts of being the home of one of the most well-respected jazz programs in the entire country – so it’s able to teach its students the fundamentals to the most advanced theories of their respective courses. Of course, auditions are set, but they’re not only searching for talent or perfection. The school searches for a student’s drive, determination, passion and perseverance, more than anything else. If you are eyeing for a career in music whether it’s with an instrument or you desire to learn about music recording, Philadelphia music schools have several colleges and programs for you to choose from. What’s more, Philadelphia music schools don’t only depend on classroom teaching, they also incorporate hands-on experience and mentoring into their programs to give the students the best time of their academic life.

House music has become very popular amongst music lovers in a very short span of time. There are lots of people who love listening to house music but out of them there are few people who actually want to produce music on their own and in their own style. But before you produce music of any kind it is customary to have some basic knowledge about the music form, its history and trends followed by other artists of the same genre. Let us start with the history of house music and how it got originated. The music form originated in Chicago around 1980s and since then it has been seen expanding. House music is a style of electronic dance music and DJs in clubs and discos gave birth to house music.

In house music there are different musical elements which are being used by artists to give effects and beats on which people can groove. One very basic element which is used in almost every house music chart is kick drum. The kick drum which is also known as four-on-the-floor beat is generally generated by either by a device called sampler or drum machine. Other element which producers include in house music is bass sounds and this can be done by making use of different instruments and sources. One instrument which is used for producing sequenced continuous or repeating lines is a synthesizer like Roland SH-101 or TB-303. House music charts have also been seen to include disco or gospel vocals.

By now you must have got some knowledge about house music and its history. Other thing that one can do to understand house music in a better way is to listen house music tracks produced by renowned artists to gather some more details regarding production of house music. Some of the artists who have made great contributions to the genre of house music are Ashley Beedle, Barbara Tucker, Crystal Waters, D Mob, Dave Clarke and many more. Listen to the tracks produced by these artists or even others carefully and note down different points you notice while listening to them. You can either buy CDs from market or if you cannot afford to spend too much on them then simply download tracks from internet that is free of cost.

One genre that appeals to most everyone is pop music owing to its light and catchy qualities. Pop music is so aptly called because it is a categorization that is largely based on the popularity of a song. There is no clear and distinct parameters to classify a song as pop music. For the most part, its popularity should translate to records sold and radio air times.

Pop music is a combination of various styles influenced by the evolving music forms. The development of pop music is one that is progressive, rolling over from generation to generation to snowball into its current form. As this is so, pop music has taken so many forms through each decade to reflect the musical preference of a particular generation.

Rich Vocals

During the 50s, popular tunes were those that were vocally rich with a string accompaniment and a vocal chorus back up. Country music and American folk music were great hits along with variations of standard formats. Great American songbook classics, crooners and big band singers adopted other musical techniques to give their music a modern twist. The listening public lapped these enhancements up and caused songs like Mack the Knife and Singing the Blues to top the charts. In contrast to these classics, rock and roll likewise rocked the American music industry with fast and infectious beats of Rock Around the Clock, Heartbreak Hotel, and Tutti Fruitti. These tunes not only rocked the airwaves, they also rocked the dance floors.

All in the Band

The next decade brought in what is called as the novelty song characterized by humorous lyric combined with melodies that are simple yet catchy (i.e. Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, California Girls, and Good Vibrations). Worthy of note is the fact that the vocal harmonies and lyrics of these songs revolved around Californias surf, girls and cars. Thus the label Surf pop. Other popular music during the sixties were youth-oriented band music in up-tempo beat, I Want to Hold Your Hand,Cant Buy Me Love, Downtown, and To Sir With Love.” African American music likewise joined the popular music scene with its doo-wop style that gives prominence to melodic sounds and vocal harmonies. Rhythm and blues as well as Motown soul music were also chart-toppers during this period.

Cacophony of Sounds

From the 1970s to the present, pop music is as diverse as they come. A slowdown in musical tempo was seen in the early seventies when folk-based artists took center stage. Popular during these times were songs written by the singers themselves. Tempos picked up again towards in the second half of the decade when disco-dancing became a favorite pastime among the youth. Dance tunes Play That Funky Music, Staying Alive, and YMCA dominated the airwaves and the disco scene.

The 1980s and 1990s music scene was composed of music soundtracks, international hits, rock and roll, and pop icon duets. Another music development in this decade is the advent of charity records where artists put their talents together to raise funds for a cause. Particularly characteristic of the last two decades are the prevalence of songs by female artists like Mariah Carrey, Celine Dion, and pop icon Madonna. The new millennium kept with soulful ballads, hip hop pieces and dance tracks. Movie soundtracks remained chart-toppers.

Pop music is a genre that will always be around. People will always listen to music and music labels and radio stations will continue to track what songs people are listening to. For as long as people are playing and listening to music, there will always be a chart-topper.
