Kabul, Afghanistan (AHN) – Afghan youth were treated to a rare rock concert in Kabul over the weekend. The concert, dubbed Sound Central, was held at a small enclosed park and featured local musicians and bands from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Australia.

Australian photojournalist Travis Beard organized the concert that featured 10 bands and drew at least 450 people, including women. A few Afghan security men were also seen guarding the event.

Organizers and performers defied the security risk posed by Taliban insurgents by not revealing the venue until the last minute.

There have been virtually no public musical performances in Afghanistan since the country was engulfed in wars in the 1970s. The hardline Taliban regime banned non-Islamic music in the 1990s.

A CBS News crew covered the concert and even interviewed a local band called District Unknown.

The three members of District Unknown performed without wearing masks, which they did before to protect themselves from reprisal by Taliban insurgents. In the interview with CBS News, they said they revealed their identities in the name of freedom of expression.

The band’s drummer, Nasram, was quoted as saying, “If we are not talking about who we are and if we are not expressing ourselves, we are dead.”

Organizers and performers respected local tradition by not serving alcohol and going silent when mosques called for afternoon prayers.

The concert went without incident.

Beijing the afternoon of November 2, according to foreign media yesterday reported that the U.S. “New York Times” and CBS News survey, almost all Americans agree that text messaging to drive should be regarded as an offense, as well as half of people believe that hair car message should at least drink-driving penalty.

The survey from October 5 to 8, the pairs of 829 U.S. adults conducted by telephone interviews, and collected relevant data. During the interview, one from the United States, New Jersey 71-year-old resident, said: “If you want to drive on a good opening; if you want to call or send text messages, put the car into the street to stop.”

The survey showed that 97% of Americans support a ban on text messaging to drive, so the consistent high rate of any investigation are very rare. There are 80% of Americans support the right hand-held mobile phone while driving ban.

Another 50% of the respondents felt that people who send text messages to drive should be subject to the same penalties for drink-driving. From the United States, Pennsylvania, a 38-year-old resident, said: “the danger of driving text messaging the same as for drink-driving.” There are 2% of the respondents felt that people who send text messages to drive the punishment should be received by more than drink drive even more serious.

But there was a 31-year-old from the United States, California residents have raised objections, he said: “The car did send text messages should be considered as illegal, because you looked at while driving should concentrate on the road, but I do not think it should be the with the crime of drunk driving, because text messaging when driving is not completely interfere with the attention. “that send text messages should not be driving for drink-driving with the crime of respondents accounted for 43%.

Americans are mobile phones distract the driver’s attention in recent years, concern has increased. This year that the hand-held mobile phone calls should be regarded as an offense accounted for 80% of respondents compared with 2001 ABC News survey (69%) has improved. However, specific to the drivers to use hands-free mobile phone calls, the attitude of the respondents were changed. 70% of the respondents believed that the use of mobile phone hands-free calls while driving is no problem, which is ABC News survey in 2001 were flat.

This seems to indicate that Americans generally believe that the use of mobile phone hands-free phone safer than hand-held mobile phone calls. Two-thirds of respondents believed that using a mobile phone hands-free calls while driving is more secure, and nearly 90% of users believe that such actions should not be regarded as an offense.

Research shows that driving a cell phone is a very dangerous behavior, while the hands-free calls will not reduce this risk.dvd recorder decoder, leather race suit,
