Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – While “Scream 4″ is the one of the most highly anticipated films of 2011, even the first look at official footage from the film was overshadowed by the stars’ off-screen troubles. David Arquette made his first public appearance since his separation from Courteney Cox Saturday at the taping of Spike TV’s “Scream” Awards. Cox, previously scheduled to appear, was a no-show.
Arquette took the stage with his fellow “Scream 4″ co-stars Neve Campbell and Emma Roberts, as well as director Wes Craven, there to introduce the first look at the upcoming sequel.
“‘Scream’ was the first slasher film of our generation to break down the rules of survival in a horror movie,” Arquette said at the event, set to air Tuesday.
The “Scream” awards also featured a first look at “Scream 4″ and its extensive all-star cast, including quick glimpses of cast members Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Marley Shelton, Alison Brie, as well as cameos from Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin, and Shenae Grimes.
“Welcome home Sidney,” the killer tells Campbell’s character in the world premiere clip. “You’re a survivor, aren’t you Sidney? What good is it being a survivor when everyone close to you is dead?”
“Scream 4″ won’t hit theaters until April 15th, 2011, but the exclusive first footage airs on the “Scream” awards Tuesday, October 19th on Spike TV at 9pm ET/PT.
