Nashville, TN, United States (AHN) – The CMA Awards has given Miranda Lambert not one, but four really cool gifts for her 27th birthday on Wednesday. The songstress took home Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year at the 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards.
Lambert’s single “The House That Built Me” was honored for both Song and Video of the Year at the “Country Music’s Biggest Night,” while her “Revolution” took the top prize of Album of the Year.
She said upon accepting the Female Vocalist honor from country music legend Loretta Lynn, “The woman that paved the way for all females ever in country music is standing here beside me and handed me this award… I’m going to keep going for the other women in this industry.”
It’s not only her night. Her fiancé Blake Shelton also won a major trophy that night, winning Male Vocalist of the Year. His “Hillbilly Bone,” featuring Trace Adkins, also won Musical Event of the Year.
Brad Paisley, who co-hosted the show along with Carrie Underwood at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, was named Entertainer of the Year for the first time. He was Male Vocalist for the past three consecutive years.
And based on the blogsphere review, Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t suck in her country music debut at the show. The Oscar-winning actress played the guitar and sang a track from her upcoming film “Country Song” with Vince Gill. Her performance actually received a standing ovation.
