Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) – Steven Tyler has revealed that he and Aerosmith bandmate Joe Perry did drugs together in recent years.

In the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine, which will hit newsstands on Friday, the 63-year-old rocker revealed that he and Perry went into a drug binge in 2008 while working on a new album that never was completed.

“Joe was high and he couldn’t play,” Tyler said. “I couldn’t sing, really, because I was snorting everything, and it fucks up your throat. It was the wrong time.”

After checking himself into a 90-day treatment program in 2010, Tyler said he’s been clean ever since.

The rocker also admitted that his new job as a judge on “American Idol” is helping to keep him from slipping in his sobriety battle.

“I’m on Idol now (and) the last thing I’d want the world to see is me slurring my words. I don’t ever want to be a bad example again.”

To add to the many public feuds with his Aerosmith bandmates, Tyler also revealed he signed up to be a judge on the show to prove a point to his band that he wouldn’t be “held hostage” after the band threatened to kick him out.

“Did I take this job to show the band? (expletive), yeah. Not to show them, but that I can’t be held hostage anymore. I will be my own hostage. The band can’t throw me out.”

Today, Tyler said he’s determined to stay focused on maintaining his renewed bond with his four children and daughter Liv Tyler’s six-year-old son, Milo.

“I thought my band was my family, but the lesson of the last couple of years was I really need to nurture the family I really got.

“If there’s one thing I am today, it’s grateful. I’m happy as a clam!”

Tyler will also publish a new memoir called “Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?” on May 3.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – The Black Eyed Peas could be in trouble again for not giving proper credit for using a sample on a new song. This time, they’re under fire from none other than KC & The Sunshine Band.

The song in question is off the Black Eyed Peas’ latest album, “The Beginning,” titled “Love You Long Time.” Playing both songs back-to-back, the will.I.am and Fergie duet does sound suspiciously like the 1983 KC hit.

In a new press release, frontman Harry Wayne “KC” Casey asks the Black Eyed Peas to give them credit for sampling on the song. In the liner notes, the only credits are listed to William Adams (will.I.am), Stacy Ferguson (Fergie), and Joshua Alvarez.

“There is no doubt that KC & The Sunshine Band’s song ‘Give It Up’ is strongly featured in the Black Eyed Peas’ song ‘Love You Long Time,’” says the statement.

“I have recently learned that the Black Eyed Peas have utilized my song ‘Give It Up’ in their new composition ‘Love You Long Time’ which appears on their new album,” adds Harry Wayne “KC” Casey.

“I LOVE the Black Eyed Peas and am truly honored that my music has crossed over decades and many types of music genres,” Casey added. “Will.i.am is a great producer and I am thrilled that he is a fan of KC and the Sunshine Band, too.”

Casey may sound like he’s playing nice, but KC & the Sunshine Band’s attorney David Bercuson is already working on remedying the serious legal situation.

It’s not the first time the Peas have been accused of plagiarism. DJ Adam Freeland threatened legal action last year, claiming his song “Mancry” was directly lifted for the Black Eyed Peas’ “E.N.D.” album cut “Party All the Time” without permission. They reportedly reached an undisclosed out-of-court settlement over the dispute.

When I was in grade school, I used to be a member of a drum and lyre band. I experienced playing both the lyre and the drums and found the latter easier. However, I ended up playing the lyre. It was fun especially when we won awards in exhibition competitions. We also did caroling during Christmas holidays and played in different events and occasions.

I enjoyed playing those instruments although there were times I got embarrassed when I made mistakes. There came some instances when I escaped attending band practices because I knew I would be called by our bandmaster. I did not like the feeling of receiving special attention. Worst, I got such because I messed up.

We had our band practices a group at a time. Usually, the lyrists practiced first then the drummers, or otherwise. Then, we played in a classroom as a whole – all together. Our bandmaster used different music teaching tips and strategies to help us learn music pieces easily. What was remarkable to me was that of Psychology’s Operant Conditioning.

Does it ring a bell? Or does it sound unique? I somehow have a clue how Music is related to Psychology but the other way around, I am not really sure. But I can say it was effective in my case.

Our bandmaster gave us two options: (1) we had to perform in our exhibition drills as if we were in the actual competition-meaning having minimal mistakes as possible- so we could get home early. We used to have practices a couple of whole consecutive days and those were really exhausting; or (2) he would pull our sideburns for every mistake we would commit. The former condition is a ‘reward’ while the ‘latter’ is a punishment. Of course, we would go for the reward. After all, who would want to be punished?
