So you want to learn how to yell sing? Seems easy enough. I’ve heard those songs where the singer is constantly screaming, and I’ve thought, they get paid for that? I could do that? that very few people possess. It is, however, a talent that you can learn. And then I tried. Needless to say, I failed. Yell singing is an unbelievable talent you can learn with singing software and other lesson formats.

If you’ve ever wanted to sing while yelling, well, it’s very simple. You yell. The trick comes in when you have to maintain a note, or scream for an extended period of time. This is a lot harder then it may seem. Yell singing puts tremendous stress on your vocal chords, and requires an extraordinary amount of breath.

Have you ever lost your voice after a long period of talking loudly? Yell singing can cause permanent loss of your voice. If you try yell singing without practicing first, you could badly damage your vocal chords. Make you take your time and learn some vocal techniques before you jump into yell singing. It is important to be cautious when learning on how to yell sing.

You need to develop strength in your vocal chords in order to yell sing. This can be done in a numerous ways. Most of the techniques are the same with all types of singing. Simple vocal exercises will help build your vocal muscle. Breathing exercises will help give volume to your voice, and give you the ability to hold notes longer.

If you are serious about learning to yell sing. You should look into the various instructional materials that are available. You might also consider hiring a personal teacher. Whatever you choose to do, remember to start slow. You need to build up your muscle before you can exercise it.

MP3 players and devices now hold a TON. But it’s expensive to fill. It’s hard to find cheap music downloads. The major download services such as Napster, iTunes, and others want you to cough up as much as $2 per song. That’s insane. There’s a better way. There are cheap music downloads out there, you just have to know where to look.

Lucky for you, you won’t have to look. I’m going to reveal to you a site that will get you dirt cheap music downloads.

I hated trying to download music. I didn’t want to download illegally for obvious reasons. But at the same time it would cost me a fortune to fill up my MP3 players 40GB of memory.

For many sites it would cost me $1 to $3 PER SONG.

That’s outrageous if you ask me.

But, I finally found a site that was worth a damn.

Flickr Music is AMAZING. They have a database of almost 13 MILLION songs available for download.

The best part is that the site offers CHEAP music downloads. How cheap? You can get a lifetime membership of UNLIMITED downloads for a puny $30.

That’s a deal that can’t be beat. Trust me, I’ve looked around forever.

I’ve NEVER seen a deal like that. For $30 you can download however many songs you want from their collection of over 12.8 million for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.

Not only will you be able to fill up your MP3 player’s memory, you’ll be out buying media cards to add to your memory so you can download EVERY song you want. All for just $30.

If that isn’t cheap music downloads, I don’t know what is.

Wanna start filling up your MP3 player TODAY?

Grab yourself all the cheap music downloads you can handle at Flickr Music!

Many musicians aren’t just making their millions off of their music. Stretching their name and business savvy into other fields has proven just as profitable as selling their musical talents. Here are just a few of these musicians doing just this.

1) Sean Combs – P. Diddy or Puff Daddy operates his business interests under the business name Bad Boy Entertainment Worldwide. Business ventures that fall under Bad Boy Entertainment include Bad Boy Records; the clothing lines Sean John; Sean by Sean Combs, a movie production company; and his two restaurants. In addition to being an entrepreneur, Coombs has also taken the roles of recording executive, performer, and producer of MTV’s Making the Band. If that isn’t enough, he is also a writer, arranger, clothing designer, and Broadway actor.
So what else does P. Diddy sell under his various company names? There is his fragrance Unforgivable, which sells for roughly $70 a bottle. And then there is vodka. In 2007 he signed a multi-million dollar agreement with Ciroc.

Other ventures that earn P. Diddy a pretty penny include the TV series he created called “Making Da Band.” Diddy also owns restaurants in New York and Atlanta (named “Justin’s,” after his son). And if that’s not enough, Diddy holds the honor of having designed the Dallas Mavericks’ green alternate jerseys.

All of Coombs efforts have paid off well making him one of the richest hip-hop performers with a net worth estimated at US $346 million.

2) Jay-Z – Jay-Z, also known as Shawn Corey Carter is also a financially successful hip-hop artist having a net worth of over $150 million. Jay-Z co-owns the 40/40 Club an upscale sports bar that started in New York City and has since expanded to Atlantic City and Chicago. He is part owner of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets and is also the creator of the clothing line Rocawear along with Damon Dash. He is the former CEO of Def Jam Recordings, one of the three founders of Roc-A-Fella Records and recently, the founder of his new venture Roc Nation.

Jay-Z also serves as co-brand director for Budweiser Select and collaborates with the company on strategic marketing programs and creative ad development. He provides direction on brand programs and ads that appear on TV, radio, print, and high-profile events. He has also invested in a real estate development venture called J Hotels that recently acquired a $66 million mid-block parcel in Chelsea, New York.

3) 50 Cent – Curtis James Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, rose to fame with his music which sold more than twenty-one million copies combined. It was from here that he went on to expand his empire through a handful of ventures. To start, he signed a five-year deal with Reebok to distribute the “G-Unit Sneakers” line as part of his G-Unit Clothing Company. He worked with Glacéau to create a Vitamin Water drink called Formula 50. In 2007, Coca-Cola purchased Glacéau for US $4.1 billion. 50 Cent also teamed up with Right Guard to launch a body spray called Pure 50 RGX Body Spray and a condom line called Magic Stick Condoms.

50 cent is also an author and started a reality TV show on MTV called 50 Cent: The Money and The Power.

4) Jennifer Lopez – Jennifer Lynn Lopez often nicknamed J. Lo, is an actress, singer, record producer, dancer, fashion designer and television producer. Lopez launched a clothing line in 2003 named JLO by Jennifer Lopez, which includes different types of clothing for young women, including jeans, T-shirts, coats, belts, purses, and lingerie. She also sells jewelry, hats, gloves and scarves. In 2005, J. Low launched a new clothing line called Sweetface. In late 2007, Lopez retired JLO by Jennifer Lopez and launched a new juniors’ line called JustSweet. Her fashion lines have featured at many New York Fashion Week events.

Jennifer has also opened a Cuban restaurant and is a spokesperson for Lux shampoo in Japan. Lopez owns the film and television production company Nuyorican Productions, which was cofounded with her manager Benny Medina. Lopez net worth is estimated at over $250 million.

5)Justin Timberlake – Justin Randall Timberlake is a pop musician and actor. Timberlake has co-owned three restaurants in the United States: “Chi” opened in West Hollywood, California and “Destino” and “Southern Hospitalty” in New York. He also has his own brand of tequila called 901; the name comes in part from the area code of his hometown of Memphis.

In 2005, Timberlake launched the William Rast clothing line with childhood friend Juan (“Trace”) Ayala. The 2007 line contained cord jackets, cashmere sweaters, jeans and polo shirts. The pair reports inspiration from fellow Memphis native Elvis Presley.

Recently Timberlake started his own record label, Tennman Records.

These are just a handful of musicians who have made it big in other arenas; numerous other musicians are making it big with their marketing skills, business expertise and name.

John Hoglund, of Cabaret Scenes recently commented, “On her exceptional new album, On a Carousel, Sheera Ben-David celebrates a decade of songs from her life. Recorded live at the Metropolitan Room, with her multi-talented brother Adam Ben-David as musical director, the album is a theatrical journey of reflection that resonates with anyone who ever had a dream.”

The review suggested that starting with the lilting “I Miss the Mountains” (Kitt-Yorkey), Ben-David captures both an innocence and a wise maturity fused with a yearning for life that is palpable. With careful phrasing, she unleashes a waterfall of emotion in song that allows the listener to peek inside a centered artist who has weathered some bumps and moved on. Warm readings on “Here’s to Life” (Butler-Molinary) and Leslie Bricusse’s “When I Look in Your Eyes” are perfect samplings of one who has lived and understands the subtexts she’s singing about. She digs even deeper on John Bucchino’s “If I Ever Say I’m Over You” and “This Moment” as well as on two of Jacques Brel’s frenetic mad scenes, “Brussels” and “Carousel,” where she gets to breathe new life into these showy theatrical neo-classic war horses.

Sheera Ben-David said of the Jacque Brel song “Brussels”, “I generally have a closer relationship with slow songs, so a fast number has to be pretty awesome for me to make it my own. Brussels has this great way of lifting your spirits with its cheerful rhythm, but I love the juxtaposition of the lyrics then being so dark. The irony makes it such a fun and wild song to sing.”

The album was named Cabaret Hotline Online’s Outstanding Female Vocalist Album. Complementing Adam Ben-David’s sublime arrangements are Mat Fieldes on bass, David Rozenblatt and Damien Bassman on drums and J.J. McGeehan on guitars.

For decades, Sheera’s mother, Batyah Godfrey, was a soloist at the Metropolitan Opera. Their father, Kerry Ben-David – who met Batyah at Juilliard – was cantor at Scarsdale Synagogue for two decades after working at the Rome Opera as a Fulbright scholar.

“When we were growing up, we spent a lot of time backstage at the Met,” recalls Sheera, “I spent a lot of time being exposed to what I consider still the finest of the finest when it comes to music. I have a deep appreciation for classical and opera and all those things.”

She also was drawn to sacred singing.

This June, the New York cabaret star gave birth to her first child, Baxter. Sheera insists that Baxter is her best performance to date, however those listening to this extraordinary CD may beg to differ when listening to this amazing young woman sing.

At the 20th Annual Cabaret Convention held this past October at Lincoln Center in Manhattan, Sheera Ben-David received the Julie Wilson Award. The CD, On a Carousel, is produced and arranged by Adam Ben-David, and is available at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/sheerabendavid2/from/tblink.

Art, Culture and Music in Austin Texas

One of the most sought out events in Austin’s busy social calendar each years is the South by Southwest Festival. What first started as a musical event has branched out to include art, culture and technology. It’s one of the largest musical festivals in the country and the 2008 festival brought in $110 million into the city.

The next SXSW festival will happen between March 12 and 21, 2010. The interactive festival (focused on blogging and other forms of new media) will take place between March 12 and March 16. The film festival is occurring simultaneously March 12 through 20. The music portion of the event will be held between March 17 and 21.

In 2007, SXSW celebrated 20 years as a music festival. The first SXSW event was billed as the “Austin Battle of the Bands, SXSW” in 1987. Since Austin is such an important part of the music scene, it really drew people in and began to grow. It started as a weekend long music festival with just a handful of bands. Since then, the number of musical guests has grown tenfold. By 1994, a film festival and interactive conferences were added into the mix. In the last 15 years, SXSW has become one of the most respected film festivals in the nation.

Although the size and scope of SXSW has changed over time, the creators keep the focus on showcasing local and emerging bands in front of record labels and publishers. It’s technically an industry event that the public gets the chance to take part in. However, the major challenge of the SXSW show has become keeping the fans happy.

Industry professionals can purchase SXSW badges in order to enter the music showcases. Although the badges are open to everyone, they are very expensive. Most fans can’t afford these badges, so they opt for wristbands. The wristbands are often sold out in one day and may not get fans into all of the shows. The shows accept those with badges first and then those with wristbands, meaning that the badges may fill the seats before the wristband holders get a chance to enter.

In response to the needs of the fans, in recent years SXSW has set up free shows with big headliners at a separate location. The local live music community has also stepped into fill the needs of the visitors to SXSW. There are dozens of Day Shows which are held in clubs, coffee houses, shops and other venues around town, around the clock. You can be sure that if you want to see live music during the SXSW festival, you’ll be able to no matter what.

SXSW is also host to many conferences and forums, particularly during the interactive portion of the festival. For complete details on 2010’s SXSW festival visit the official site at sxsw.com. Although SXSW has grown by leaps and bounds since its creation, it remains one of the most unique and crowd drawing festivals of its kind.

With the explosion of technology it is now easier than ever to make your own rap music beats. The average person has a wealth of technology in their home and access to the Internet. So downloading a simple piece of software can be done with ease any time of the day or night.

There are several good quality beat programs available for you to choose from and a wide price range too. My advice is to strike the correct balance between cost and quality.

For example, if you were to spend $1000 on a beat software program you are sure to get excellent quality, but this is a lot of money to spend less you have a multi-million pound recording studio to fit out.

On the other end of the spectrum it is also not very wise to buy the cheapest program around. There are several that you can get for $10 but the quality of your production sounds as cheap as the cost of the program!

Find a balance in between and spend somewhere between $25-$60. There are a few excellent programs in this price range and they are expensive enough to produce professional quality yet cheap enough to not break the bank.

Always look for a software program that has a full money back guarantee, just in case it is not suitable for your needs when you purchase. Also look to ensure you rap beat program has an edit feature and an export feature.

This is simply because if you make your own rap music beats you want to be able to edit out any mistakes and also export the finished track as an MP3 or burn it onto a CD.

One of the best programs I’ve seen to make rap music beats can be found here.

Beat maker Software

The main website has some great videos that show you the software in action.

You may be surprised at how good the quality is and you may be surprised at what top producers are using the same program!

The first guitars, although if they were not with the usual form, were born a lot of centuries ago in the Middle East. Over the centuries, this chord instrument, which used an amplification system with a sound box, underwent many transformations, until finally arriving to the instrument we know.

Of course even now there are several types, but the most common is the six-strings guitar. The guitar is composed of many pieces, starting from the top there are: the headstock together with the tuning keys used to keep tension in the strings and to change the tuning. Here we find the neck, the length can vary depending on the type of guitar, the neck is divided into frets that are used to tighten the strings and get the notes you want. Finally then we find the body with the soundboard and the bridge from where the strings branch off.

Of course in electric guitars we will not find the soundboard but a solid body (full body) that, to capture and disseminate the different sounds, uses pickups that are placed where would be the hole for the sound box. It is important to remember that in case of non-electric guitars sound quality and its uniqueness are completely dependent on the type of wood used to build the box and the type of joints inside it. Even in electric guitars, the wood is very important because the neck is subjected to a much higher tension than acoustic guitars, it also has a metal core; a good neck must be able to withstand the tension and its change when you change your tune and must also be sliding to let the right hand slide. One of the most important part is certainly the strings, that, plucked with the fingers or the plectrum, emit the characteristic sound of these musical instruments.

The strings are stretched in different ways to obtain different notes. The most common tuning is re-mi-sol-la-mi. This tuning, in which the interval between two adjacent strings is right one fourth (except that between the second and third string, a distance of a major third) has established itself for its ease in forming chords. In guitars with more strings such as those with seven or eight strings, more low note are added to obtain a sound more dark and powerful, characteristic of metal music. The power of the sound of the electric guitar is given mainly by the type of pickup installed that characterize the power and the type of sound that will be expressed through the use of amplifiers that can alter the sound in different ways. The most common amplifiers are the combo and those constituted by a surface plus a speaker.

The technical description still does not do justice to the emotions and feeling you get playing these instruments. In conclusion when you play you discover a part of you that you did not know it existed.

Declining record sales and increasing demand for free digitalized music has made it harder for record labels and artists to recoup their efforts. It has also made it a lot easier for amateur and independents to create and spread their music to the masses.

A lot of people are buying into the despair and writing the whole music industry off as a goner. Black Star were always optimistic about change. Says founder Robin Sydney, “We believe that everything that is happening to music has created an opportunity for musicians everywhere because record labels and artists must now let go of the past and find new ways to release their music”

Black Star is a bracelet company that wanted to make a difference to the starving music community by helping artists release music on our bracelets mainstream.

Says featured artist Alex Band, “Ive been blessed with success in my career that artists dream of. Ive had number one hits on the Billboard Charts worldwide; “Where Ever You Will Go” with my band The Calling and “Why don’t You and I” with Santana yet its been five years since I put out an album. I had the right people behind me, contacts, fan base and exposure yet the predictable demise in record sales that came after the digitalization of music left me with limited options to put out my music and make a record label a sound investment:”

“When I was approached by Black Star to be the first artist to release a full album on a bracelet I was thrilled. I think Black Star is a revolutionary way to get real music back into stores. I’m relieved that I no longer have to wait for record companies to make things happen for me and that I won’t have to compromise my voice or my message to share my music”

Every Black Star bracelet comes with a unique tag designed by vintage tattoo artist Andy Brodsky plus a free song download by a featured independent artist (our debut featured artist is Alex Band). There are nine bracelets to purchase in store and three to collect online. When you collect all 12 you can download a full featured album. Proceeds of every purchase go to our featured artist’s favorite charity, organ donor organization Donate Life.

Black Star is dedicated to helping independent artists make waves and inspiring talented music artists everywhere to think outside the labeled box and find innovative ways to get their music out there to the people that need to hear it.

Dirty Dancing star, Patrick Swayze, died from his illness last Monday, September 14, 2009, at the age of 57. The actor was diagnosed to have been suffering advanced stage four pancreatic cancer in January 2008. Nevertheless, despite the diagnosis, he continued to work still, putting together a memoir with his wife and shooting “The Beast” where he made the pilot episode. Swayze chose not to use painkillers in the shoot of this A&E drama series. The actor said that it would have taken the edge of his performance. Maybe this decision led the show to have a phenomenal number of viewers raging to 1.3 million viewers for the 13 episodes that ran during the year, but then, A&E decided reluctantly not to continue the show for the next season.
Swayze, in his interview with Barbara Walters says that five years is a wishful thinking. He also said that he wanted to last until people find a cure for his illness, like getting a fire under it. When his illness went public, many had reacted to his situation. Some says he only got weeks to live, but according to his doctor, his condition was considerably more optimistic than that. The actor appeared in a live television event “Stand Up to Cancer” September last year where he touched many hearts when he stated, “I keep dreaming of a future, a future with a long and healthy life, a life not lived in the shadow of cancer, but in the light. … I dream that the word ‘cure’ will no longer be followed by the words ‘is impossible.” He also wrote an op-ed piece in the Washington Post entitled “I’m Battling Cancer. How About Some Help, Congress?”, wherein he pursued to the senators and representatives the maximum funding for the National Institutes of Health for fighting cancer and to make it a part of the economic stimulus package. Clearly, the actor fought up in all the ways he can to overcome this illness. Then maybe, you just cannot tell what would really happen next. Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months. Condolences poured out from the fans and co-celebrities who were greatly inspired by his struggle in fighting out his illness.

With the increased pressure to’go electric,’ many artists who played the guitar at the height of the Rock n Roll movement switched their acoustic instruments to electrical versions. Unlike basses, which can often be modified into electrical basses, an only electric guitar will not produce melodic sounds without the help of an amplifier which carries the tune produced through an electronic current. Electrical guitars also permit the player to partly manipulate the sound coming to the amplifier thru equalizing, twisting, and other methods.

Click here to learn electric guitar online for free!

If you’d like to learn electric guitar, you are going to first have to select which type you need to play. Selecting this route will permit you to select a five-, six-, seven-, or even twelve-stringed instrument. Similar to a regular bass or acoustic guitar, the electrical guitar comes in diverse styles with different string options.

This will enable you to read sheet music, even if you have not heard the music before. While this is a slower process, the foundation you are laying for future guitar success is bigger because you will have already mastered reading music. Many guitar enthusiasts, who simply want to learn the electric version for fun almost never choose to learn how to read music. Instead, they typically learn the four-stringed electronic guitar in chords, which lets them’play by ear’. A four-stringed instrument is made up of regular note progressions, and switching in and out of different chords as well as training your left hand to switch and hold a chord in a certain fret as you strum in rhythm to the track of your choosing is a lot simpler.

The electric guitar is a great choice for those who want to play rock and roll, jazz, blues, and even modern versions of classical or up to date music. If you haven’t purchased an electrical guitar yet, then you’ll need to consider what version you’d like. Some models have hollow bodies, while others are solid in their make up. A regular solid electrical guitar emits the sound without any kind of resonation before it hits the amplifier.
When you learn electric guitar its as fun as learning how to play a regular bass guitar. For those needing to learn the basics of guitar playing then an instructor could be the most suitable option. But , if you simply want to learn for fun, practice using a four-stringed instrument by learning how to play in chords and strum according to what you hear. Best of luck as you learn electric guitar!
